Now, they display the number the beancurds left in the fridge so that customers do not queue and get disappointed when stocks run out. In the above photo, it shows that there are just 50 Almond Beancurd left. Good initiative!

A thin film like layer on the top. Anyone knows what causes this?
Well, I have tried many other similar kinds of beancurds, Lao Ban's version is still the best so far. In terms of taste and melt in the mouth sensation, theirs is unbeatable.
I have tried to made this several times, but I must admit I am nowhere near to Lao Ban's version. Mine is closer to 51 Soya Bean in terms of taste. Click here for the chilled beancurd recipe.

Must have been a unique and different from the rest in taste as I can read from your review. I too like soya bean and the curd version and these are healthy and cooling and chilling for the burning weather we have having now.

DeleteHubby just tried one in AMK. They've all sorts of flavours & he tried the strawberry one. No idea if it's good cause I don't like soya bean curd. U may wanna try if u're a fan. It's at the hawker ctr.

DeleteThat I am not too sure. The one in Clementi is not prepared on the spot. It was transported from somewhere else, could be from the main branch in Old Airport Road. It tastes just as good :). Don't worry, I'm sure they will open one in the North, or maybe they already did!

DeleteWell, it is my favorite food. I used to eat dou hua long long time ago. Haha, it is very convenient to go to the One Raffles Place. There are so many friends who go to work in there. It is a good place.
