Middle Road Pork Ribs Prawn Mee (Queen Street) Revisit

This is my second visit to Middle Road Pork Ribs Prawn Mee. Middle Road Pork Ribs Prawn Mee is located in a coffee shop behind Bugis+. It is located at then second coffee shop, the middle one among the row of three coffee shops.

There was a short queue at the stall. Luckily, we did not have to wait too long before it was our turn to order.

I ordered the Prawn Pork Rib Noodles which cost $4. The Prawn Pork Rib Noodles consisted of noodles, pork ribs, prawns (de-shelled), bean sprouts and pork lard. The prawns this time tasted different. They were hard and salty. The pork ribs on the other hand were tender.

The light brown soup / broth was robust, flavourful and tasty. However, this time I felt thirsty after drinking the soup.

Standard seems to have dropped.

  2. Thanks for posting this. I have been eating Middle Road prawn mee for more than 30 years. My dad used to bring us when we were kids, and whenever I eat it now it brings back happy memories of childhood. I'm glad the taste / style of preparation is still unchanged after all these years...

  3. Hi(: i've asked about the prawns and they told me that they use two types of prawns . One type is the stir-fried ones that is hard and salty and the other type is the sweet and fresh type that they use when the salty ones run out . Although both types or prawns taste good , i personally prefer the salty ones as it is more flavourful when eaten with the soup , so i dont think there is an issue with the prawns (: I am glad that the taste hasnt change over the years too . Thankyou for posting this as it urges me to eat that again haha! XD
